Join us virtually on Monday, January 13th from 12-1pm to hear from Senior Reliability Engineers at SERC Reliability Corporation, Jennifer Richards and Anaisha Jaykumar who will present on the reliability challenges of the electric grid in an evolving landscape, including how inverter based resources (IBRs) such as solar and wind generation, impact load and long term planning.

MEET OUR SPEAKERS:

Jennifer Richards holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and an MBA from The Citadel. She began her career in the semiconductor industry before transitioning to the electric utility sector, where she has built a diverse and accomplished portfolio.

Jennifer is currently a Senior Reliability Engineer in the RAPA group at SERC Reliability Corporation. In this role, she supports the Variable Energy Resources Working Group, the Dynamics Working Group, and the Geomagnetic Disturbance Working Group, contributing to initiatives that enhance grid reliability and resilience.

Her previous experience includes roles in Large Industrial & Municipal Services, System Operations Planning, EMS Engineering, and NERC Compliance. Jennifer is a licensed Professional Engineer in South Carolina and holds a NERC Certified System Operator credential at the Reliability Coordinator (RC) level, demonstrating her expertise in grid operations and compliance.

Anaisha Jaykumar is a Senior Reliability Engineer at SERC reliability Corportation, leading resource adequacy assessments to evaluate the reliability of the electric grid. She is currently the Chair of the NERC Probabilistic Assessment Working Group. Prior to joining SERC, Anaisha was a lead product development engineer for power quality monitoring solutions and later a Commissioning Engineer, managing an electrical commissioning team for data center construction. She received her master’s degree in electrical Power Engineering from Arizona State University and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Mumbai, India.
